Resident of Kemerovo. In November 2024, it became known that a criminal case had been opened against him for desecrating symbols of military glory in connection with a post in which he promised to defecate on the St. George ribbon. Earlier, Panasenko had been held administratively liable under the article on the display of Nazi symbols and was sentenced to one year of corrective labor in a criminal case for repeated display of such symbols (we do not know the details of that case). He was also twice given suspended sentences under the article on drug possession (we have no grounds to consider those prosecutions politically motivated). On April 21, 2025, he was sentenced to four years and four months in a general-regime penal colony.

You can read more about politically persecuted people in the Telegram channel OVD-Info LIVE and our database of politically motivated criminal prosecutions.

How to write the letter?

Getting started
What can I write about?
On censorship: what can’t I write?
Is it allowed to send photographs?
What language do I use in my letter?
What are the limits on sending letters?
Should I expect a reply and do I have to respond?
How do I maintain the correspondence?
I would like to send letters by myself, how do I do it?
How else can I support Russian dissidents?
It says that the prisoner I was assigned was tried for terrorism, or extremism or something else scary, what’s up with that?
