A resident of the Penza region, formerly a citizen of Ukraine. He worked as a gas welder. On 11 September 2024, he was detained after the law officers staged a traffic accident: another car allegedly crashed into his car parked outside his house. He was taken to the forest, where he was physically and psychologically abused, then kept in the Federal Security Service's department for 24 hours. On September 12, a case of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation was initiated against him. According to the investigation, Linkov cooperated with the Freedom of Russia Legion. Linkov confessed to the crime. On 13 September he was placed under house arrest. Subsequently, Linkov said that he had not committed any crime, but only had spread around anti-war leaflets. A charge of confidential co-operation with foreigners was later added to the case. On 10 November 2025, Linkov was sentenced to 14 years in a strict regime penal colony.

How to write the letter?

Getting started
What can I write about?
On censorship: what can’t I write?
Is it allowed to send photographs?
What language do I use in my letter?
What are the limits on sending letters?
Should I expect a reply and do I have to respond?
How do I maintain the correspondence?
I would like to send letters by myself, how do I do it?
How else can I support Russian dissidents?
It says that the prisoner I was assigned was tried for terrorism, or extremism or something else scary, what’s up with that?
