Veronika Netunaeva

A lawyer at the Uglich city administration. She was detained on July 14, 2023, and a criminal case was opened on the same day, accusing her of collecting data about the Uglich hydroelectric power plant on the instructions of an "Ukrainian curator" with the aim of committing a terrorist act. It is very likely that this "curator" was an employee of the special services, because all her trips to the power plant, which she made at the request of her interlocutor, who introduced himself as a Ukrainian serviceman, were recorded by the FSB. Netunayeva said in court that she suspected provocation but wanted to get to the bottom of it. In addition, according to her, the photos and coordinates of the plant that she sent to her interlocutor were useless and were no different from those publicly available.
The project "Support for Political Prisoners. Memorial" notes that, according to the case materials, the account of Netunaeva's interlocutor was linked to the same phone number as the account of the interlocutor of another resident of the Yaroslavl region, Valeriia Zotova, who was accused of committing a terrorist act after her attempt to set fire to a humanitarian aid collection point for Donbass after conversations with a man who introduced himself as an Ukrainian serviceman. The investigation did not try to find out who the phone belonged to.
On February 15, 2024, Netunaeva was sentenced to six years in a general regime colony.
