He's a resident of Ufa and a pensioner.

On the 24th of March 2022, he was searched and placed in custody. Efimov was charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist community, preparation for the overthrow of power, public justification of terrorism and attempted extortion or theft of weapons.

The defendants in the case reported the use of violence while being taken to court, as well as the fact that the investigators put pressure in the pre-trial detention centre, forcing them to familiarize themselves with the case files on an accelerated timeline.

According to Mediazona, Sergei Sapozhnikov, who also participated in the activities of the community and is a witness in the case, testified against its members. He stated that the community was preparing to seize power.

On the 16th of December 2025, Efimov was sentenced to 18 years in a strict regime colony.

How to write the letter?

Getting started
What can I write about?
On censorship: what can’t I write?
Is it allowed to send photographs?
What language do I use in my letter?
What are the limits on sending letters?
Should I expect a reply and do I have to respond?
How do I maintain the correspondence?
I would like to send letters by myself, how do I do it?
How else can I support Russian dissidents?
It says that the prisoner I was assigned was tried for terrorism, or extremism or something else scary, what’s up with that?
